Greetings, dear friends. I’d like to invite you to decipher another open riddle; to build a scenario of your own. Good luck!
As I often do, I’d been searching for mushrooms in the old woods. I was quite happy, having found one of the rarest wonders: a ghost mushroom. Treading the path due east, to the green lake, I stopped to more carefully listen to the sounds of what seemed to be an ironfur bear. Sure enough, it was one, talking to a white wolf.
“You’re sure it was the right place?” asked the bear in a grave voice.
“Yes,” replied the wolf, “the dead tree was there, 10 paces north of the ancient milestone. But it was nowhere.”
“She’s going to die soon.”
I was close enough now to see the scene. The white wolf was tired from running, and the ironfur bear was carrying a fox on his back.
The fox seemed very weak, as she whispered something in the bear’s ear. Within moments, the wolf and the bear have me cornered against a large tree, showing their teeth in anger. Finally figuring what happened, I smile and relax.
Later, I’m treading the path due east, to the green lake, with three friends.

Gah! Open riddle! This sounds quite impossible but here is my attempt:
The Ironfur Bear and the White Wolf are trying to find the ghost tree and the ghost mushroom knows where to find it.
You, along with three friends - Ironfur Bear, White Wolf and Ghost Mushroom are heading towards the ghost three, with the Ghost Mushroom leading the way.

You were oblivious as to what you were doing while covering ground and moving quickly east. The Fur and the white are trees, carrying what’s left of the wildlife (the fox) who is sly enough to make it… Trying desperately to find clean water, air and moving as far east as possible from “Western civilization” in order to survive…
You realize the impact of your actions and in order to save yourself and them, you drop your ax and join them heading to the “green” lake…This time for a different reason…
Mushrooms = money….
You = land-escaper…
“She’s going to die soon.” = Mother Earth.

The character is gathering herbs in Ashenvale. He comes across a druid and a shaman doing the quests “Elune’s Tear;” they need to find Iris Lake, which is green, and get an Elune’s Tear from there to save Relara. He knows where it is so he is leading them there.
Not sure about the fox. O.o
The ghost mushroom is a medicine needed to heal the fox. They are looking for it and you gave it them and earned three friends in the process.
