Imran Khan did a good job guessing: he got the correct answer. Heather in Beautiful BC was close and noh had a funny remark.

The correct answer to this riddle is, of course, that the crow had intentionally ingested chaumas in order to poison the fox, who would have been the first to feast on her flesh at the fleshing ritual in the Fleshing Meadows – as the first who saw her dead body.
