Welcome, welcome, dearest reader!
Today’s riddle challenge is challenging enough for thee, I trust.
“The Sun is rising, captain!” says the yeoman, touching the captain’s shoulder so as to wake him up.
“So soon? but I… I feel like I didn’t get any sleep at all,” says the captain confusingly rubbing his eyes.
“Sir, you instructed to be waken up upon sunrise, and alas, sunrise is upon us!”
“Arrgh! OK, OK, wake up the entire landing party… let’s get things in motion!”
“Things are now in motion, that cannot be undone,” says the first officer, whose fine ears perceived the conversation as loud enough to awake him.
“Indeed, says the captain,” then shouts “everybody in formation.”
The landing party gets in formation and the captain gives order to start the works.
After about eight hours, the Sun wasn’t even at zenith, and the crewmen were exhausted. The science officer says:
“Sir, if I may point out, the Sun is rising.”
“What?” says the captain, “what is this new devilry?” and then shouts angrily, as he figures things out “YEOMAN!!!”
The yeoman appears, and the captain continues:
“I told you to wake us when the SUN is rising, not Vertigo’s second moon!”
They had been up and working for eight hours, hardly had any sleep and the morale was appalling. The yeoman replies:
“Sir, if I may point out, we are in Vertigo’s winter season, which means the second moon doesn’t rise at all in this hemisphere. There’s something at work here…”
Can you guess what was going on?

Aye, friends, it is time for another wonderful riddle. Hopefully you will enjoy it.
The frog was obviously in a hurry. It passed by the butterfly without even turning her head to salute.
“Where to?” asks the butterfly confused.
No answer from the frog, which was running like her life depended on it. The butterfly starts flying by the frog.
“Where to?” asks the butterfly again.
But the frog doesn’t waste any of her energy on talking. The butterfly thinks “what’s she running from?”
He decides to stop and wait to see what’s following the frog. And guess what? There comes another frog, just as hasty as the first. And another. They go around the lake as if some python was after them, only there’s no python. Just a bunch of other frogs watching the runners and jumping like crazy.
What is going on?
Note: Official riddle answer: Running Frogger

March 4th, 2008 — By Guests, Riddles, Short Riddles

Greetings, friends! Today is a special day, we’re hosting the first ever guest riddle here. Our riddler is Deimos Tel`Arin, who’s decided to take things a little bit further, by organizing a contest (applicable only for entrecarders) to reward those who crack the riddle. Also, he’s looking for sponsors, who will be rewarded as well. The rules are on his domain. The official answer to the riddle will be published on April 1st 2008, together with the contest winners.
As usual, you can post your guesses for the answer to the riddle in the comments below. But for contest-related businesses, please post a comment on Deimos’s domain and he will clear things out.
And now, without further ado, the riddle:
I do not exist, yet many have known me for almost a decade.
About the past, I was once good. Very evil, totally brutal I am now.
Mentioned within the Demon’s domain, I was.
Sharp and pointy objects, my title rhymes with.
An actor as a protagonist in a popular TV series shares my name.
Revered for vanquishing beings that are dead yet not quite dead, she is.
Also, her physical beauty quite matches with my own.
Hell be damned, now tell me - Who am I?

My dear friends, here’s one candidate for the impossible class riddles. Hint: use your imagination rather than logic on this one.
From north and south, from east and west,
A mighty frog army amassed.
So high they jump, so loud they croak,
That I can hear them from home.
Here come the Frog King and his Queen
Holding a lit match in between.
The crowd stops croaking in the night;
All pay attention to the light.
Why are all frogs gathered like that?
What do they want? They wait for what?
Best of luck with this one!

I knew the previous riddle was way too easy for such a smart audience
. Well, this one should prove a little more challenging. Good luck!
Three business men on adjacent seats in a plane.
The one sitting near the window calls the flight attendant, and says to her:
“This gentleman here,” discreetly pointing to the man sitting next to him, “isn’t feeling well. Would you ask your male colleague to assist him to the three free seats over there, so he can lie down?”
“Sure, sir, right away,” says the flight attendant, and off she goes.
The business man sitting near the aisle smiles as the male flight attendant arrives and talks in French to the man who wasn’t well, then takes him to lie down on the free seats.
What really happened? Why was the man smiling?

Greetings, dear friends, and welcome to a new riddle challenge. Feel free to post your answer in the comments.
We are the citizens of the mighty stronghold,
We care not for status, we care not for gold.
Great miners, great masons, and architects too,
From worker to soldier, we know what to do.
Our armor is thick and our numbers are high.
We serve our queen until the day we die.
Who are we?

This riddle, dear friends, I’m told is a lot easier.
A man goes to work. He’s waiting for the bus. Another man joins him. Then a woman joins them. The bus comes, and the men (well mannered) make way for the woman to get in first.
When they are all in and seated, one of the men says to the woman:
“Not very gentleman-like, your son…”
The three of them pause a bit, then burst into laughter.
What did he mean? What’s so funny?
Feel free to post your answer in the comments.

Greetings friends of old, and friends of new. This riddle is particularly difficult, but I’d venture to say that some of you will get pretty close to the answer.
A man walks his dog by the lake. Suddenly, a frog pops out of the water and says to the man:
“Your master wants you home at once.”
“Wow, a talking frog,” says the man a bit surprised, but not overly amazed, “and how would you know that?”
“He told me so himself, as I’ve just talked to him. Get back before he gets mad,” was the frog’s reply.
“But I don’t have a master… I have plenty of servants though,” said the man rather proudly.
The frog stamps its foot in distrust and disgust and leaps back into the lake.
What’s the meaning of the above story? What has just happened?
Feel free to post your answer or comments in the comments below.

Surprisingly, the previous riddle which I considered quite easy wasn’t solved. Well, this one is a tough one that only some of the initiated might be able to tackle
. Post your answer in the comments, and good luck!
The Moon was rising full and bright
Behind the clouds of blue and white.
The Sun was long set in the sea
As on the beach I have my tea.
I see my old friend comes along
And in his hand his fishing rod.
“Sit down old friend, let’s have a tea!”
“I would advise that you should leave!”
Soon, I am running for my life,
Away from beach, away from tide,
And so do all who heard the chat.
Why are we all running like that?
